REFLECTIONS
الحمد لله
This is the last page of my blog. I am very grateful and excited that Allah had gave me this chance to finish my blog beautifully. And I would like to thank Dr.Sharifah Sariah as the one who guide me from the start. Along the process I finishing this blog, I was encounter with different learning theories namely Behaviorist, Cognitivist, Contructivist and Connectivism. Therefore, in this segment I would like to discuss how I integrate these theories in teaching and learning.
1. Behaviorist
It started out in my first class of Instructional Technology with Dr. Sharifah as the instructor for this subject. She had briefed us about the assessments that we are going to have along this semester including making this blog. I've already had my account in blogger so I just need to add a new blog.
At first, Dr. guide us how to come up with 4 pages to the blog and make it visible to see. And then, she asked us to choose the theme for our blog and customize it by our own. She always reminded us to be patient waiting for the blog to finish loading before start to edit it or we would be panic for nothing. And sincerely, these are new information for me that I've never know before. She also emphasized the significant of creativity part for the blog. I felt quite nervous at that time as I'm not so good in IT especially I'm not that creative in this field. So, she introduced us a website that can help us in editing which is canva.com.
Next, in the second week of making this blog, Dr. taught us how to make a GIF by our own. I feel like "wow" and I'm so excited for that. It is actually quite easy as we just need to use Microsoft PowerPoint as a platform to make our caption, choose our animation and save it as a video. And then by using ezgif.com, we can change the video into a GIF.
2. Cognitivist
After briefing and guiding us in making the blog, Dr. gave us time for us to do it by our own. At that time, I had encounter with some problems, like why certain text that I wrote was highlighted, how to put the video or photos into the blog and how to resize them. I manage to solve these problems after I referred to Dr. Sharifah.
3. Contructivist
I am not so good and creative in IT. And at my first try to customize my own blog, it turned out so bad and I'm quite down when I looked at my friend's blog which is so nice. But, Dr. had gave us a few website that we can use to help us enhance our creativity. And I've got no reason to give up as this will affect my mark for this subject.
So, I've started customizing back my blog from scratch. I made my own design for the title of my blog and GIF rather than take it from google. I also discovered how to put music in the blog and guide my other friends for that.
4. Connectivism
I've gone through this learning theory when I can reach the information about my topic from the social network. As by the internet, all of information had been passed around all over the world.
For example, the video that I got from YouTube about a teacher from Terengganu used a song in her teaching. Next, I've got most of my learning resources not from Malaysian website but from oversea country. Indeed, the social network is very important yet useful if we use it properly.
